Harp Concert

Former Royal Harpist in Concert. 

Jemima Phillips is an award winning, professional concert harpist and alternative live looping artist. During her tenure as Official Harpist to the Prince of Wales, she performed at the reception hosted by Her Majesty the Queen for the London bid for the 2012 Summer Olympics and premiered the new Royal Golden Harp at the Llangollen International Festival. She was the only musician to play at the royal wedding reception for Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall and was featured in the very first concert to be recorded in the ballroom of Buckingham Palace. 

Graduating from the Royal College of Music with a BMus(Hons) and an MMus(RCM) she also gained Fellowships of Trinity College, London and the Royal Schools of Music. Versatile and innovative Jemima’s extensive repertoire ranges from the classical to the contemporary, from improvised sound loops to traditional song composition utilising electro-acoustic harp alongside loop and pedal fx technology. Featured on TV by BBC, GMTV, ITV and S4C Wales, she has performed extensively throughout the UK as a solo recitalist and freelance artist with international performances in Japan, France, Russia, Switzerland, Spain and the USA.

She will be performing at a solo event at Christ Church, Edde Cross Street on  Friday August 30th at 7.30pm  Tickets are on sale price £12 (cash sales) at Rossiter Books on the High Street from August 1st.  More information from the Revd Phil Warrey (01531  634242) or the Revd Glyn Jenkins (01989 566144). Money raised will go towards the renewal of the buildings at Christ Church. Tickets are limited and the public is advised to get their tickets asap.  The price of the ticket includes light refreshments.
