The corona virus Prayer

God of all hope we call on you today.
We pray for those who are living in fear:
Fear of illness, fear for loved ones,
fear of other’s reactions to them.
May your Spirit give us a sense of calmness and peace.

We pray for your church in this time of uncertainty.
For those people who are worried about attending worship.
For those needing to make decisions in order to care for others
For those who will feel more isolated by not being able to attend.
Grant us your wisdom.

Holy God, we remember that you have promised that
Nothing will separate us from your love
– demonstrated to us in Jesus Christ.
Help us turn our eyes, hearts and minds to you.

Community Support

If you are under 70, not in the vulnerable category and otherwise feeling well, you might like to consider volunteering.  HVOSS are helping to connect those in need with those who can offer support.  Herefordshire Council are registering and co-ordinating all volunteers.

Angie's Coronavirus Prayer

God of all grace,

we come before you in confusion and uncertainty,

perhaps not knowing what to pray,

perhaps wondering whether even to pray.

But you promise never to leave us and

that nothing can separate us from your love.

As we look to rest on those promises and

the promise that the Sprit can intercede for us when we don’t know how to pray,

we hold before you this world which you have made and love.

We pray for all affected by the Coronavirus,

all those who are ill and all those who are afraid.

May they know your healing presence.

We pray for protection for all treating the sick,

and pray for a breakthrough for those looking for solutions.

We pray for wisdom for all in positions of authority

as they seek to make decisions to keep people safe.

We pray for those for whom self-isolation is difficult,

either practically or psychologically,

and for families struggling to keep children entertained.

As tensions rise, we pray for calm.

We thank you for the community spirit being shown at this time,

and pray that enough people will stay well to support others.

God of hope,

who works all things together for good,

we ask these prayers in Jesus’ name.  Amen.
