Minister: Deacon Angie Allport

St John's is the largest church in the Circuit, having about 160 members and is situated in the ancient heart of Hereford City. There is a full programme of regular activities and we have many special events throughout the year.

The pattern of our Sunday morning worship varies from week to week, but is generally fairly formal. Our children meet as S-Club on Sunday mornings, sharing the first part of the 10.30 service. You can find out more about S-Club here.

We have five House Groups which meet about once a month. These all meet in members homes and offer a variety of types of fellowship. Some are structured, perhaps following a set course of study, while others operate less formally.

St. John's has a strong sense of it's place in the community of Hereford City. Members are deeply involved in community activities including the Hereford Food Bank for which tins of food are collected each Sunday. We work with our friends from Hereford Cathedral, using our own facilities to provide hot breakfasts on Saturdays for those  in our city who need it. We run the only club in the County which gives special support to families with young twins and our toddler group is highly regarded by many parents of young children in Hereford.
A range of community groups use our premises week by week and we have an excellent working relationship with Hereford Cathedral School which often performs concerts in the church. St. John's has a strong musical tradition and our church makes an excellent concert venue, used by a number of music groups from the city and beyond.

St. John's is also much involved with other churches in Hereford and supports the work of Churches Together in Hereford and strongly supports the work of Christian Aid and All We Can.

We would be delighted to welcome you to our Sunday morning worship or to any of our mid-week meetings. Be warned though - sometimes on a Sunday you need to get here in good time or you may have to sit right on the front row or up in the gallery!

And, of course, we hope you will join us afterwards for a cup of Fair Trade tea or coffee!
