Hi folks,
Tonight is our last night.
It was a bit hot last week, so we did not get too far in organising our talent show. So when they come tonight there will be a sign up sheet for those who want to take part, and we now know the code to unlock the piano!
So ask your young person to let us know at the beginning of the session, what (if anything) they'd like to do, or show, then we have some time to find any music or sort other technical requirements.
The Talent show can be anything the young people want it to be. It could be singing, dancing, magic tricks, a skill like balancing a football on your head or solving a Rubik's cube, equally it can be a show and tell, about a favourite hobby, an art project, poem, or prose that they have written. It's not compulsory, but we'd like an opportunity for everyone to take part if they can.
Parents, please come and watch at around 5:30pm. We will have had some party food at around 5:15pm.
We will also round up with a short report on the first year of Soul Space and a video of 3Generate.
See you later.
We will return on the 3rd September 2026. All those moving to year 7, if they initially start back with us at 4:30pm, we will discuss and start planning with them a later start and extra activities for the older group.
We have promised we will look at other opportunities for our own residentials, and we have not forgotten this, and have 2 places to investigate and then we will start planning with the young people what we can do. In the meantime we have 3Generate in October.
Is the big Methodist event for young people at the NEC on the first weekend in October. Some 2000 young people 8-18 gather and camp and take part in activities at the NEC. We need to buy tickets before the end of July, but at the moment are just looking for those who are interested. As Amplify, please note that as this is a Church event, there is some specific Christian content. For the Methodist Church this is also our opportunity to hear Young People's views. (Whatever they maybe).
Please take a look and show your young person the promo video – here.
Take a read of what is on offer, and when you come next week, let Phil know if your young person is interested. The cost of the tickets is normally covered by grants, we would be asking for £15 towards the transport.
If your young person is interesting in going, please let me know.
