Vote for Anne!!

Methodist Insurance Volunteer Reward Scheme

Congratulations to Anne Parsons on the most recent award received on behalf of the work of the Ross Meeting Centre. £1000 has been received by the church. This award was selected as one of 11 Regional winners across the UK; (our area covers the whole of the West Midlands and Bristol.) Here is a quote from the web-site:

“At Methodist Insurance, we’re passionate about championing the rich and varied contribution that churches make to society. None of this would be possible without those who dedicate their time and energy to support the church and enrich their local community —the church volunteers. No matter how small their contribution, their impact often makes a big difference to the lives of others

For the next stage of the competition, launching at the end of
March, we invite you to vote for your favourite, with the results from this being combined with the scores from our national judging panel to determine the National Winner. The National Winner will receive an additional £2,000 donation for their church.”

You may now register your vote! Please pass the word around.

Anne has also won the Hereford Times Dementia Carer Award for her work at the Meeting Centre.

Anne said

'Thank you to everyone who has supported me over the last couple of years since the Meeting Centre opened. Also to the volunteers and carers who nominated me for this award. I am truly overwhelmed by everyone's good wishes.

I am only one of a great team and a lovely bunch of people who come each week to the Centre. We have great fun together, as well as supporting those who live with dementia and care for their loved ones who are on that journey.
My hope is that the publicity around this award will make the Ross Meeting Centre known to a wider community.'

Our Mission Satement

“Our mission, through the power of the Holy Spirit, is to make the good news about Jesus known, to enable people to grow in their faith, to serve our local community, to stand against injustice and to look after God’s wonderful creation”.

Situated in the heart of the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Beauty we are known for our warm welcome and desire for people to feel at home.

Being a Local Ecumenical Project with the United Reformed Church adds another dimension to our thinking, experiences, and worship.  We are an active member of Churches Together in Ross & District and our 2 house groups that meet for Bible study & prayer are ecumenical.

Part of our outreach is to those older folk who live alone for whom we provide a monthly lunch and companionship. We also regularly welcome visitors from a local hotel, Merton House, which caters for people with disabilities.
